Stools From Super Donors Could Cure Chronic Diseases
The old saying that the path to a person’s heart is from his or her stomach, needs some alteration as the imbalanced bacterial composition in the gut may lead to severe concerns in the body, including depression, cancer, obesity, post-traumatic stress disorder, and others.
The imbalanced bacterial composition is also known as dysbiosis and the scientist have also found a link between allergies and microbial dysbiosis, cardiovascular disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. In fact, research has also found a link between the gut bacteria and old age ailments like Alzheimer’s disease and paralysis.
Almost all the claims were established after the experiments were executed on a group of mice, which are germ-free. During the tests, the researchers had replaced the gut microbiotas of the rodents with the healthier version of the bacteria from the healthy donors through fecal transplants.
In the clinical trials, the physicians utilized the same procedure for executing a stool transplant. However, the new studies have proven some stools are better than the others. Some of the super donors have a certain type of bacteria in their guts that can lead to the restoration of the microbial diversity which is lost in some of the ailments like diabetes and inflammatory bowel syndrome. Therefore, the scientists have concluded if they succeed in understanding the core mechanism of the entire procedure that helps cure the ailments through super donor stool samples, fecal transplantation can prove to be an effective way to cure several ailments.
The current trials executed for the chronic ailments through the fecal transplantation are being scrutinized. These are associated with dysbiosis like allergic colitis, constipation, neurological conditions, and inflammatory bowel syndrome. The patterns in these trials exhibit the prominent presence of the super donors with stools that have the potential to influence the host gut. This eventually leads to clinical improvement.
